adoption |
|
So, in our current law, if a couple is not married, but are straight and adopt a baby, only the one parent can adopt. If they are gay, both can adopt. I am the mother of a child and we had the father sign the papers in order to get the child registered on HIS surname. We split up later, and now I am living to regret it, because everything that all men complain about the mothers of their child/children, I am now experiencing, with the only difference that I have NO RIGHTS whatsoever. Imagine my position.

hmmm... not to put too fine a point on it, and not detracting from your pain and frustration in any way, we don't have to imagine ANYTHING: we live with this situation every day, we divorced fathers.
I figure on making you an honorary divorced-dad - at least you understand what WE go through. Welcome to our world!
Maybe Gary (the PR guy) can point you in the right direction with this.
Good luck!
