Subject School Holiday Access for DAD
I am writing to find out if my partner has any rights because it appears he doesnt!

Ex Wife receives K50 per month (10 for her 40 for two boys). Lives in a 5Mill fully paid up house, has GTI Golf fully paid up and receives medical aid. Dad also pays all school fees, school extras. In a nutshell he is the sole bread winner even though they have been divorced for 5 years. She does not work.

School hols in consent paper amount to half each which my partner looks forward too. He also has his kids one day in the week and every 2nd wkd. Mum cant wait to get rid of them so she can socialise.

Trouble is consent paper says you have to alternate so this year he might do first half next year she does first half. Sounds good on paper but not so good in practice especially if you have financial obligations like his to meet. Oh I have two kids as well and when we have all four we obviously want them at same time so we can share family holiday or so we can provide care when we are both at work. NOTE: I pay for the nanny to look after all of the kids when we are at work because he simply cannot afford too do this as well. Needless to say I feel I should have some say in when the kids are all here. My ex is very reasonable in relation to this.

This year we worked out our committments and sent her a letter pointing out when we could manage. Please be assured that we have NOT tried to reneg on any time with the children. All we have done is applied to have them when we can manage it. She has come back saying the consent paper states and this is NOT NEGOTIABLE etc etc.

Can someone please explain to me how a man is supposed to be ALL things yet have no rights? If he doesnt work he cant pay maintenance if he cant pay maintenance he cant see his kids. WHAT CAN WE DO? Please anyone?
